List/Modify Users

Overview

Administrators can view and update user information from the List/Modify Users page. User profiles, passwords, and Course Roles for specific courses are updated by clicking the buttons that appear next to user information. In addition, the Administrator can send an email to a user by clicking on the user’s email address in the Email column.

User records that are set to Unavailable are preceded by a circle symbol with a slash through it. Also, the record will appear in gray text with the exception of the email address, which may still be clicked to send a message to the user. To make a record available, click Properties to modify the user record and change the availability setting.

With Blackboard Learning System user records may also be disabled in the database. Disabled users records are preceded by a circle symbol with an ‘x’ through it. Like unavailable records, disabled records will appear in gray text with the exception of the email address. For more information on the properties of disabled records, please see the Blackboard Learning System Advanced Integration and Data Management Manual.
